GOLF NEWS — SEPTEMBER 2008

As I am sure many of you heard, I had the opportunity to spend a few days in August at Oakland Hills Country Club — site of the 2008 PGA Championship.  It was an incredible week for me personally and professionally.  I appreciate all of our members that took the time to ask me about the event.  I never get tired of sharing great golf experiences.

As we come into the best months of the golfing season, RidgePointe will be hosting some high school events that you need to be aware of.  The 4A District Championships will be held the mornings of September 11^th and 12^th.  Neither event is very large with only about 30 high school players on the 11^th and about ten on the 12^th.

We will also host the Blazer High School Invitational on September 4^th.  Valley View’s event consists of approximately 40 players beginning at 2:00 p.m.  In addition to these events, both Valley View and Ridgefield Christian will host matches at RidgePointe throughout September.  Generally a match will consist of 10 – 15 high school players in the afternoon and should not interrupt our member play.

         Girls Champion.......................... Sarah Childers

         Boys 8 to 11 Champion............ Riley Rainwater

         Girls 8 to 11 Champion............. Mackenzie Mitchell

         Boys 7 & Under Champion....... Luke Imrie

Our junior champions received their awards at the RPCC Junior Golf banquet on August 17^th where we had approximately 140 in attendance.

Finally we want to congratulate all of our junior golfers who competed throughout the state and the country this year.  I could not be more proud of the results these young players have achieved.

As the season becomes later the weather turns cooler.  We are coming into the best months of the golfing season.  We look forward to seeing everyone on the golf course
