Eddie Oates

Eddie Oates was born and raised in Jessieville Arkansas, where tennis was his first love. Eddie played competitive tennis at Garland County Community College for two years, until a serious knee injury cut his college career short.

Eddie has a great deal of experience to draw from, he has been a Tennis Professional for over 25 years.  Eddie began his coaching career as a teaching at Fairfield Bay Resort. He moved to Jonesboro and was the Tennis Director at The Trim Gym for a year, and The Jonesboro Country Club for 20 years.

Eddie has played 4.5 and 5.0 league tennis. His 4.5 team won the State Championship on numerous occasions.

He has coached a number of nationally-ranked tennis teams, and currently coaches ten adult teams.

Eddie has served on the board of the Arkansas Tennis Professional Association. He is currently a certified Pro 1, and a referee with the United States Professional Tennis Association (USTPA).
