Golf Rules

 

The golf operation and grounds will be overseen by the Board of Directors of the Club. The Golf Professional will be in charge of all tournament operations, handicapping, all areas pertaining to the playing of the course, and enforcement of rules that shall apply to the golf course.  The Golf Professional will be in charge of the promotions of all member sponsored golf activities, and will report directly to the Board of Directors.  It is the intent of the RidgePointe Golf Rules to insure the maximum enjoyment and safety of all golfers at RidgePointe Country Club.  All members are encouraged to become familiar with these rules.

 

General

 

  1. Rules of the United States Golf Association, along with any local rules set by the Board of Directors and the Golf Professional will be in effect for all play.  Local rules will be published periodically by the Golf Professional and will be available in the golf shop or the bulletin board in the downstairs hallway of the Clubhouse.

 

  1. The golf course will be open for play at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday thru Friday and at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Sunday, and holidays during the summer months.  The golf course will be open at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, Sunday, and holidays during the winter season and notice of such will be available in the golf shop.  The golf course will close at dusk.  The golf shop will close at 7:30 p.m. during summer months and 5:30 p.m. during the winter season.  The golf course and its facilities will be closed on Monday’s except on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. The course will be open these days and will be closed on the following Tuesday. The Board of Directors may approve a special golfing event that would open the course on a Monday.

 

  1. On the day that the golf course is closed, all the golf facilities including the practice area and the putting green are closed.

 

  1. Jogging and walking are permitted before the course opens on the cart path only.  Golfers who are on the golf course will be deemed to have the right of way.  No roller blading, fishing, or bicycle riding is permitted on the golf course while it is open for play.

 

  1. Only food and beverages purchased at RidgePointe Country Club will be allowed on the golf course, except for special events approved by the Board of Directors.

 

  1. At all times maintenance of the greens will take precedence over regular play.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  1. All members, the golf assistant, the General Manager, the Course Superintendent and his staff are responsible for reporting any violations of the golf course rules to the Golf Professional.  The Golf Professional shall relay the report to the Board of Directors for appropriate action.

 

  1. Each member is responsible for the conduct of their guests and the charges they may incur.  If a guest violates the golf rules the member shall be held fully responsible for their actions.

 

  1. Each member is responsible for the conduct of his or her children.  Parents should make sure that children understand the RidgePointe Country Club Golf Rules and their importance as they affect each one of us.  Parents are also responsible for all charges their children may incur.

 

  1. Each member is encouraged to turn in an accurate score following each eighteen hole round.  The Golf Professional shall be responsible for the establishment of handicap procedures, and have sole discretion to determine the handicap of participants of Club sponsored events based on facts presented to the Professional. 

 

  1. While on the golf course or its practice facility, all players will comply with instructions given by a duly appointed representative of the golf shop or Greens Superintendent staff.

 

Tee Times

 

  1. Regulations of play and starting times shall be the responsibility of the Golf Professional.

 

  1. Tee times may be made by contacting the golf shop by phone or in person beginning on Sunday of the preceding week for any weekday time.  Tee times for Saturday, Sunday, and holidays may be made 48 hours in advance starting at 7:30 a.m.

     

  1. All players must register in the golf shop before beginning play and be ready to play at the groups’ designated tee time.  Any group failing to take its proper place on the number one tee will be moved back as directed by the Golf Professional or his staff.

 

  1.  Discretions are vested in the Golf Professional and staff to accommodate groups of members who failed to get a tee time.  The golf staff will only be allowed such discretion provided there is a place for such a group and members who have tee times are not duly inconvenienced.

 

  1. Individuals who do not have a game may call or come to the golf shop in order for the Golf Professional or his staff to find them a game.  Golf games will be found on a first come / first serve basis, taking into account the wishes of the players with the tee time.

 

Play Restrictions

 

A.       All players are encouraged to play an eighteen hole round in less than four hours.  If a group falls out of position, the slower group must invite the group behind to play through.  When play is delayed due to a lost ball, the group playing behind shall be invited to play through when such action will speed up play of the course.

 

B.       Threesomes and foursomes are permitted at all times when the golf course is open.

 

C.       Onesome and twosomes have no priority on the golf course.

 

D.       Juniors under the age of 16 will be restricted from teeing off number one between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. unless approved by the Golf Professional.

 

E.        The Golf Professional will be responsible for scheduling all Club tournaments.

 

F.        No sixsomes will be allowed for play unless approved by the Golf Professional

 

Classification of Guests and Restriction of Play

 

  1. A guest is a person who has been invited to play golf by a member.  All guest fee charges are good for the entire day.  Any extra holes played will result in another cart charge. A guest unable to complete play of a minimum of three holes in case of rain will be given a rain check or the charge removed from the member’s account.

 

  1. Types of Guests:

1.   In town: a person living within 40-miles of the Club may only be invited to play once per calendar month.

 

      Weekday fee:  $30.00              Weekend & Holiday fee:  $40.00

 

             2.   Out of town: a person who resides outside a 40-mile area of the Club may play four times per calendar month.

 

                   Weekday fee:  $30.00              Weekend & Holiday fee:  $40.00

 

    1. Immediate family: a person who is an immediate family member of an active Club member.  Immediate family includes mother, father, son, daughter, sister, brother, or in-laws of such.  (Frequency of play to be determined by #1 or #2 above.)

 

                   Weekday fee:  $20.00              Weekend & Holiday fee:  $25.00.

 

    1. Junior guest: a person under the age of 18 and playing with a RidgePointe member may play the relevant number of times per calendar month as outlined in #1 and #2 above.

 

Any day rate:  $10.00.

 

    1. Reciprocal Guest: a guest who is a member at a reciprocation U.S.G.A. Club and whose Golf Professional has called for them to have the privilege of playing at RidgePointe Country Club. A reciprocating guest may play without a member at the Professional’s discretion.  The Golf Professional will be limited to two foursomes per day at non-peak hours, which have no member in its group. 

 

      Weekday fee:  $40.00              Weekend & Holiday fee:  $65.00

 

  1. A member may invite a maximum of 11 guests on any one day.  Any larger group of guests must have Golf Professional approval.  The Professional is required to schedule such guest activity as not to interfere with regular member play and not on weekends and holidays unless the Board of Directors approval is gained.

 

Golf Cart Procedures

 

  1. Golf carts shall be operated in a careful manner by each operator.  Each cart is equipped with operating instructions and these instructions are to be followed at all times.

 

  1. No one under the age of 16 (must have a valid drivers licenses) may drive a golf cart.  No more than two people may ride in the cart, and only two bags should be carried on the cart.

 

  1. All cart fee charges will be billed to the member’s account.

 

  1. Members are fully responsible for any injury to person or property including damage to the golf cart while in being used by the member, their family, or their guests.  Neither the Club nor Golf Professional shall be liable for any injury to person or property, which might result from use of golf carts.  Member’s use and rent carts at their own risk.

 

  1. Automobiles have the right of way at all street crossings.

 

 

  1. Golf Cart Rental Rates:

1.      Full cart nine holes:  $12.75

2.      Full cart eighteen holes:  $25.50

 

Private Golf Carts

 

A.       Use of private carts for golfing privileges at RidgePointe Country Club are restricted to residents of RidgePointe and Preston Oaks subdivisions.

 

B.       All private owned golf carts which travel on the golf course or golf cart paths will be required to have an annual trail fee permit properly displayed.  The trail fee is $510.00 per cart as set by the Board of Directors.

 

C.       The Golf Shop distributes all trail fee permits.

 

D.       The annual trail fee will be billed automatically in August of each year.  Payment at this time is to be considered for a yearly basis.  Members will be pro-rated for trail fees that start during a partial year.

 

E.        Owners of the private carts are responsible for the upkeep, care, and maintenance of their private cart.

 

F.        The Board of Directors has established the following regulations for private carts that will be used on  the golf course:

 

1.      All carts will be the same color as the Club carts after August 15, 1997.

2.      All carts will have 4 wheels.

3.      No carts, unless contracted by the Golf Professional, can be brought in on a trailer for use.

4.      No joint ownership of a cart.

5.      No decals except the trail fee decal will be permitted on carts.

6.      All private cart drivers will be 16 years or older with a valid drivers license.

 

G.       It will be the duty of the Golf Professional to report any non-compliance of private cart guidelines to the Board of Directors.  It will be the duty of the Golf Professional to make recommendations to the Board of directors in cases of extreme non-compliance concerning private golf cart regulations.

 

H.       All players riding with private cart owners will be required to pay a rider fee comparable to the rate of the standard fee.

 

I.          If a private cart owner rides with another private cart owner neither will be charged a rider fee.

 

J.         Private owned carts will be operated at the risk and liability of the owner.  The Club and Golf Professional shall not be held liable for damage or injury sustained as a result of the operation of a private owned golf cart.  Private owners should properly insure their golf cart for liability.

 

K.      In the event any privately owned cart becomes inoperable while on the golf course, the cart must be removed from the golf course within a six-hour period. In the event said cart is not removed, the Golf Professional shall make arrangements to tow said cart back to the private cart storage area.  The Golf Professional, RidgePointe, or the Board of Directors shall not be held responsible or accountable for any damage caused in or during the act of towing.  No credit will be given during such time that the cart is not in use.  If said members are using a Club owned cart, appropriate fee charges will be charged during said member repair time.  If they are with another private cart owner no charge will be incurred.

 

L.        The Board of Directors reserves the right to make appropriate recommendations or changes concerning annual trail fees.

 

M.   Their will be no refunds given of trail fees due to relocation or personal cart failure unless approved by the Board of Directors.

 

Course Closing

 

The golf course, the practice tee, and/or the practice green may be temporarily closed when, in the opinion of the Golf Course Supertindent, the course is too wet or when playing conditions would adversely affect the golf course.

 

Practice

 

    A.  All practice should be confined to the practice tee and practice putting green during normal golf shop hours.

 

    B.  Only practice balls made available by the golf shop shall be used on the practice tee.  Individuals may, if they wish, furnish their own balls to practice putting or chipping.  Practice balls are not to be removed from the practice area or intentionally hit into any water areas.

 

    C.  Practice balls are not to be used on the golf course at any time.   

 

Attire and Equipment

 

A.     Each player must have his or her own equipment and golf bag.

 

B.     Members and guests must be in appropriate golf attire when playing or practicing. Men must wear shirt with collars and sleeve (exception turtlenecks,   and mock turtlenecks). All shirts must be tucked in while using any of the golf       facilities. Appropriate golf length shorts or pants shall be worn.  Ladies must    wear a golf type blouse.  Cutoffs, bike shorts, swimwear, aerobic, dancewear, or  sport bras by themselves will not be considered appropriate golf wear.

 

C.     Juniors 14 years and older must wear appropriate golf attire. Tee shirts will not be considered appropriate golf attire.

                  

 

                         D.  Only regulation golf shoes are permitted to be worn on the golf course.  Spikeless shoes approved by the Golf Professional or Golf Course Supertindent will be accepted.  Juniors under the age of 14 may wear flat-soled tennis shoes.

 

Courtesy on The Golf Course

 

A.   Safety.  Prior to playing a stroke or making a practice swing the player should ensure that no one is standing close by or in a position to be hit by the ball or any flying object caused by the swing.

 

B.   Do not stand close to, move, or talk when a player is about to make a stroke.  Do not stand in line of another player or close to said player who is about to putt.

 

C.   Go immediately to your ball, make your Club selection, and be prepared to hit when it is your turn to play.

 

D.   When play of a hole has been completed players should immediately leave the putting green and proceed to the next hole without delay.

 

E.  Be considerate of other groups on the golf course.  Do not act in a boisterous manner, which may affect the game of other players on the course.

 

Deliberate Damage to Course

 

Any deliberate damage to any part of the course regardless of the motivation shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action as determined by the Board of Directors.

 

Golf Rule Violation

 

A.     All members, the Golf Professional and his staff, Golf Course Superintendent and staff are responsible for reporting violations of golf rules to the Golf Professional.  The Board of Directors shall address repeated violations of the golf rules by a member.

 

B.     The Board of Directors, with sufficient cause, may take any action they feel appropriate in order to uphold the golf rules and regulations.

 

Golf Course Care

 

  1. At no time shall any club other than a putter be used on the putting green.  Flagsticks shall be placed on the green in careful manner when taken out or put into the hole.

.

  1. Golf bags shall not be carried on or placed on the greens.

 

  1. Turf cut or displaced by a player shall be replaced.  The player shall use their golf shoe to kick in the divot from the sides.

 

  1. Every ball mark or depression made on any putting surface shall be carefully repaired in the proper manner.  Please consult with the Golf Professional or Greens Superintendent on proper procedures to repair mark.

 

  1. The player shall carefully repair all sand bunkers after use.  The rakes shall be placed inside the sand bunker after use.

 

  1. In muddy conditions please clean off shoes before walking on the putting surfaces.

 

  1. Players should pick up tees lying on the ground to prevent damage to the mower.

 

  1. In taking practice swings players should try to avoid causing damage to the golf course by removing divots.  If divots have been removed, the area should be repaired in the proper manner.

 

  1. All members are encouraged to use proper containers for cups, cans, or other refuse.  To maintain our beautiful course, please pick up any articles which do not belong on the course.  YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED AND NEEDED TO MAINTAIN THE BEAUTY OF OUR GOLF COURSE.

 

RidgePointe Annual Cart Plan

 

A.     The cart plan is available for members and their immediate family only.

 

B.     Annual Cart Plan Rates are $510.00 per member, plus sales tax based on a full year.  Members of the annual plan will have access to one seat in a golf cart.  In the event that two seats of the golf carts are being used, the member will incur a normal rental cart charge for the second cart seat. The plan covers one member of a family membership. In the event that more than one member of a household plays golf, the member benefiting from this plan needs to be designated.  All plans will be set up in the golf shop.

 

C.     Annual cart fee plans will be charged June 1.  Annual plans will be pro-rated until June 1.

 

D.     Individuals on the annual cart plan are entitled to one seat on a Club owned cart or may ride on a privately owned cart that has a current trail fee sticker.

 

E.      Members when playing together must share a cart unless approved by the golf shop staff.

 

F.      The golf shop staff reserves the right to pair people together on golf carts.

 

G.     All guests who accompany members and ride a cart will be charged a separate cart fee which is equal to the current Club rate.

 

H.     Plans will be automatically renewed unless otherwise indicated to golf shop in writing prior to the renewal date.

 

I.        Any member not on the cart plan or trail fee plan, but riding a cart will be subject to the normal cart fee.

 

J.       The Club’s Board of Directors reserves the right to change, modify, or cancel the cart plan or its rates at any time.

 

K.    Annual cart plans and trail fee plans have no bearing on tournament entry fees.  Same entry fee for everyone playing the event.  (EXCEPTION MGA AND LGA PLAY DAY).

 

L.      No refunds or credits will be given on the annual cart plan.
