Wedge game:
Most golfers only carry a pitching wedge and sand wedge. Adding a mid or gap wedge along with a lob wedge could be the answer to cutting several strokes off every round you play. With 4 wedges in the bag you can cover 60 yards, 5 yards at a time with only 3 swings.
If you don’t carry 4 wedges then feel free to stop by the golf shop to fill in the gaps. Nest, take wedges to the range and test the following swing technique. First, visualize your arms as the hands on a clock. Make three different swings taking your hands back to the 7, 8 and 9 o’clock positions. Set your wrist a little more with each back swing. Repeat this drill 3 – 5 times with each wedge to get an idea of the distance covered by each swing with each wedge. With practice you should be able to develop 3 consistent short swings, which will allow you to cover about 60 yards in 5-yard increments. Thus, greatly enhancing your short game. |
