Tracy Neves
Golf Course Superintendent CGCS

RidgePointe’s Golf Course Superintendent, Tracy B. Neves, CGCS is a native of West Texas.  He grew up in Snyder, TX along with three brothers, a sister and his parents, Ruby and Roy “Curly” Neves.  Tracy graduated from Western Texas College with a degree in Turfgrass management. Tracy had also attended Texas Tech University where he studied Agricultural Economics before he realized turfgrass and golf course management was his field of choice.  Tracy made the move to Jonesboro, in 1994 from Pleasant Valley Country Club, in Little Rock. Tracy was involved in the construction of RidgePointe.

Tracy is a certified golf course superintendent through the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). He was awarded the Private Merit Award, in 2001, from GCSAA’s Golf Digest Environmental Leaders in Golf. He is, also, one out of over 22,000 members, which have successfully completed the Environmental Management Program offered by the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America.  The Environmental Management Program consists of six sections:

·        Employee Safety and Right-to-Know

·        Storage, Disposal, and Recycling

·        Water Quality and Application

·        Golf Course Development

·        Habitat Development and Management

·        Integrated Pest Management

Less than 100 members have achieved this accomplishment. Tracy is an active member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and Golf Course Superintendents Association of Arkansas. He has served in several leadership positions in both organizations.  He frequently attends both regional and national conferences and meetings to stay current with the ever-changing field of turfgrass management while maintaining a license in pest control and golf course chemical application.

Tracy is married to Carol, a 4th Grade teacher at International Studies Magnet School at JPS.  They have four children, Caitlin, Zachary, Colby and ZaneRyne.  He loves to golf, hunt, fish and spend time with his family. He and his family love Jonesboro, and they are proud to be associated with RidgePointe Country Club.
