Adam Carney PGA Master Golf Professional |
| |
It seems that Adam Carney, our PGA Head Golf Professional, was born to be associated with the game of golf. From the age of 6 when his grandfather gave him his first golf clubs, Adam's life has revolved around the game which he loves. Carney, a native of Richmond, Indiana, has achieved levels of success in the golf business that even he never expected to enjoy.
Adam began his career in golf as an Assistant Golf Professional at Dorchester Golf Club in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee where he met his wife Melissa and his daughter Kendall was born. Once Adam achieved PGA membership, he returned to his home state of Indiana to serve as the Head Golf Professional at Curtis Creek Country Club inn Rensselaer, Indiana. After four years back in Indiana, the Carney’s relocated to Branson, Missouri. While at Holiday Hills Resort & Golf Club, Adam was honored with the Midwest Section PGA Merchandiser of the Year Award for Resort Facilities. In 2001 Adam was approached by Big Creek Golf & Country Club in Mountain Home to serve as Head Golf Professional at the new facility. Over the nest six years at Big Creek, Adam received more honors and awards than even he could have imagined. Adam has been honored as the Arkansas PGA Merchandiser of the Year on four occasions (2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007). He has been honored as the South Central Section PGA Merchandiser of the Year twice (2005 and 2007) and was selected as the PGA’s National Merchandiser of the Year for 2007. In 2005 Adam was selected as the Arkansas PGA Golf Professional of the Year.
While the awards are flattering, Adam is most proud of the fact that he is the only PGA Master Professional in the state of Arkansas and one of only 335 in the country. Adam’s specialty is Rules and Tournament Operations. Adam is certified to administer the rules of golf at the highest level. He has served with the Rules Committee at two PGA Championships (2005 & 2007) and serves on rules committees at the state, section, and national level.
Adam brings with him a wealth of knowledge of golf and golf shop operations. He emphasizes service, quality, and value in running his shop. He likes to offer members a “total” golf shop experience. In addition to the well known brands he carries in his shop such as Nike, Titleist, Callaway, Polo, Pima Direct, etc. Adam will offer custom club fitting services. Although he continues to be actively involved as a Rules official for several national, state, and section events, he will always focus on serving the needs of RPCC members. Adam’s vision for RPCC is a thriving Junior Golf program that he is currently working on and is sure to attract a good number of new juniors to our Club.
“Our goal is to create new playing opportunities for our members. I am very excited about out women’s and junior instructional programs. The PGA’s “Play Golf America” campaign has been successful in creating new players and we want to do the same here at RPCC. I absolutely love working with junior golfers. We guarantee that junior golfers will have a fun-filled summer of golf.” Adam Carney
Adam is 37, married to his lovely wife of 13 years, Melissa, has a daughter Kendall (12) who lives with them, and a son Mitchell (19).
